The journey

My exciting journey leading to photography...

The story...

Hi, my name is Jason, I am a photographer living in the Pacific Northwest. My journey has taken me to many states and countries, most not as a photographer. The journey has also given me a taste for travel and exploring new places, and seeing incredible sights. All my life I have loved getting outdoors. That meant a lot of wet days, either from the rain, the lake, or the creeks and ponds. As well as many warm sunny days enjoying the sunset or the forest during a hike.

As a veteran I have been able to travel to many places throughout the world. Which only made me want to travel more on my own time. I have seen incredible sights and met incredible people and the best places are always because of the people I have met. I wish I always had a camera with me to capture all those memories. Now I am going to make up for lost time and capture what I see, and share some of those experiences.

I started taking pictures when I was young and always enjoyed seeing landscapes. On several trips and vacations, I usually had a camera with me, to capture memories of the many beautiful views in different parts of the world or random moments throughout life. While in college I took the opportunity to take photography classes and was able to do an internship with a wildlife and landscape photographer. Because of life and other passions, I did not pursue photography professionally. Now, I get to focus on photography and share with you the images of things I find interesting.

I really like to see the world around me, wildlife, landscape, architecture, and most recently, a new discovery every time I do macro photography. When I take the time to slow down and look around me, there is always something interesting to see. And that means there is always something to photograph.

Because there are things in this life that I love, I will be giving to three charities. The first is St. Jude Children’s Research Center https://www.stjude.org/. The second is the EOD Warrior Foundation http://www.eodwarriorfoundation.org/. The third will be a charity that helps protect the Wilderness and outdoors. The places we all love to go to spend time. Please, feel free to follow the links and see what these charities do.

Thank you for stopping by and learning more about my photography. I appreciate all the people that contribute to me being able to create a better image.
